IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal works by emitting intense light pulses that are absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. The absorbed light is then converted into heat, which targets the hair follicles and inhibits future hair growth.
It is important to note that IPL is most effective on individuals with lighter skin tones and darker hair colors. This is because the light energy is primarily absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair. In individual's skin that's rich in melanin, the excess melanin can also absorb the light energy, leading to potential skin damage.
Similarly, IPL may not be as effective on individuals with light hair colors such as blonde, gray, or red. This is because these hair colors have less melanin content, making it challenging for the IPL device to target the hair follicles effectively.

I used to be very hairy due to PCOS… every time I would shave, my hair would go back thicker and darker!! Whenever I tried the UlikeAir3, my hair came back thinner and less and less :) I will definitely be recommending this product to everyone! It didn’t come with the box that the IPL device comes in. I am not happy about that, especially for the price.

I have been using the Ulike Air 3 consistently (per the units guidelines) for 12 weeks on my underarms, bikini line and legs. The pictures of my underarms are after 12 weeks. I would say overall there is slower hair re-growth and some areas with minimal to no hair at all. I am hopeful that the rest will continue to decrease. In my opinion there is no pain at all associated with the use of the Ulike, but I have never used another brand, so I have nothing to compare it to. My only negative is that for some reason I get what I can only describe as hives on my lower legs with use. I think this is from inflamed hair follicles, but that’s just my best guess. This has made it tough to use consistently on my lower legs, but everywhere else I haven’t had that issue. Overall I would recommend, you just have stick to it!
SO INCREDIBLY THANKFUL FOR THIS PRODUCT! I have suffered with thick coarse black facial hair with A fair complexion. It has always been one of my biggest insecurities. I hid behind a face of makeup everyday of my life for decades. Not anymore... I have seen AMAZING results. I love this product and feel so free from shaving, plucking, and all that makeup! - Started Ulike Mid-Feb '24, started noticing thinning and slower growth around the 2 week mark. Noticed a significant improvement in my facial hair growth. 6-8 weeks in I'd say I'm about 95% HAIR FREE on my face!!!
- Consistent 3x a week on level 3, glide mode. Pressing it into the skin a little bit.
- I was able to go longer in between shaves around week 4.

I love the Ulike I’ve only used it for a few weeks and my leg hair is taking a while to grow back
I am happy with the results because my skin feels so smooth 🥰 I forgot to take a photo before of my legs, but if you can see on my arms that I am very hairy, I am Hispanic and we have a lot of hair. I haven't shaved my armpits and legs in a month and you can see that I have almost no hair. I'm so happy. I haven't done it in my arms, but I'm going to do it. And then I will show the before and after👍🏼
