Can everyone use IPL?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal works by emitting intense light pulses that are absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. The absorbed light is then converted into heat, which disables the hair follicles and inhibits future hair growth.
It is important to note that IPL is most effective on individuals with lighter skin tones and darker hair colors. This is because the light energy is primarily absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair. In individual's skin that's rich in melanin, the excess melanin can also absorb the light energy, leading to potential skin damage.
Similarly, IPL may not be as effective on individuals with light hair colors such as blonde, gray, or red. This is because these hair colors have less melanin content, making it challenging for the IPL device to target the hair follicles effectively.

Our recommended treatment is every other day for the first 4 weeks, followed by maintenance sessions once or twice a month as needed. Although Ulike IPL devices can be used daily, treating the same body part every day offers no extra benefit. However, you can use the device daily by treating different areas on different days.
How long does Ulike Air 10 take to work?
Featuring Dual Lights and the powerful SHR Mode, the Air 10 provides visible hair reduction in just 2 weeks. Most users will achieve their desired hair reduction by the end of the recommended 12-week treatment cycle, resulting in smooth, hairless skin. Do I have to shave before using Ulike Air 10?
Yes, it is recommended to shave any hair longer than 2 mm in the treated area. This ensures the IPL light can target the hair root directly without being obstructed by surface hair. Failure to shave may result in a burning smell during treatment, caused by the IPL light burning surface hair stubble or residue instead of reaching the hair follicles. Use shaving alone to prepare the skin, as other methods remove the hair root and may reduce the treatment's effectiveness.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology targets hair follicles during their anagen (growth) phase. Hairs in the same body area might not be in this phase simultaneously. In order to ensure each hair follicle is treated at least once during its active growth phase, we recommend a 12-week cycle: start with 3 treatments per week for 4 weeks, then switch to maintenance sessions once or twice a month. Additionally, tailor your treatment frequency to your hair growth patterns. For areas with thicker hair or stubborn growth, adjust the power level and frequency as needed. Always monitor your skin's response and make adjustments to prevent discomfort.
